Windows 7 Failed to Control Mac’s Web Growth
The release of Windows 7 in October did almost nothing to control an increase in Mac share online, data from Net Applications has shown this. Windows combined share of Internet traffic actually goes down to 92.52 percent while Mac OS X profited directly, reaching at 5.27 percent. Windows 7 gained share and represents 2.15 percent, but its gain was more than offset by a full percentage of Windows users discarded Windows XP, in many cases choosing for the Mac or other platforms. Most users want to buy Windows 7 pre-installed on a new PC rather than as a mid-cycle update from XP or Vista, so Microsoft chief Steve Ballmer expected little help from it. The compulsion of wiping a system clean to upgrade from Windows XP 7 also creates a barrier that Apple has explained in advertisements, claiming that users can also connect to a Mac if they need to start from initiation.
Windows 7 is available in three editions – Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade and from a price range of $119 to $219. Windows 7 enhanced with new features that allow for quick access to files and links on a computer, including a unique Windows task bar, customizable options, touch-screen capabilities and enhanced search functionalities. Windows 7 is really what Windows Vista should have to be, with it, there’s never been a better time with PC. The Windows developer also reached at lower in web browser traffic. Internet Explorer goes below 65 percent for the first time to reach at 64.64 percent, while Firefox has jumped to 24.07 percent. Chrome and Safari also made gains in this time, increasing to 3.58 percent and 4.42 percent as they take share from Microsoft.
In another development, Microsoft has released new Windows 7 with full DirectX 11 support, but till now, Vista users running ATI’s newest 5000 series cards were left out in the cold. It’s not like you’ve been waiting months to play the newest DirectX 11 titles, but at a minimum you now have the comfort of knowing that you don’t need to migrate from the OS in order to take advantage of your new GPU.

02HA is a feature present in Windows 7 that enhanced the SSD’s life and boosts write speeds. Intel said that it is taking the SSD issues seriously and are working toward its solution. The chipmaker refused to comment on the nature of the firmware update’s problems, but several threads on Intel’s support forums described computers that refused to boot up Windows after the upgrade was applied to the company’s first 34nm SSDs.
The updater showed a successful firmware update, initially the computer booted just fine, but within Windows it installed some drivers and asked for a reboot. That’s when the problem got started and the drive won’t boot Windows 7. In addition, a user has said that 02HA had finished his 160GB X-25M drive.
